Good company that is scottie..but I myself wouldn't recommend going any lower that -30mm..would also recommend that shocks are also used along with the springs..every tme a car is lowered it alters the suspension geometary ..camber on the car is an issue anyway with the stilo and by lowering it causes more problems with the handling of the car..

aye i heard they are, seen a feature on them years ago in max power, havent had the chance to use them yet, apparently they match the spring rates do the lowered spring an all, technical stuff

Haven't any complaints about my Eibach set up. After getting the tracking sorted and a new tyre for the back, it handles like a dream. Put it this way, I was easily keeping up with my mate in his lighter and more modified Pug 106 down the b-roads the other day. Haven't had that much fun in years :D
Have to say though, has highlighted my brakes...discs and pads both need replacing. Not for a fair few miles yet, I'd just like them with a bit more bite.
Anyway though, springs I have are Sportlines (matched to Pro-dampers)...50mm drop on the front, 30mm on the back. Not had any issues with how low it sits and it looks and handles brilliantly. If you're wanting to go lower than that, it'd probably have to be coilovers. FK seem to be favoured by most I've heard feedback from![]()
Guys - not that I know too much about this but I sufferred a broken front spring a few weeks back so upgraded to Eibach pros (I'd read the other Eibach - sport? - lowered more). Wasn't interested in lowering (as the crossing to my garage is steep) only spring upgrade but stilosport site feedback for Pros was very positive. Larkspped in Leeds were the cheapest & proved great (£155 inc del). My mechanic fitted & was surprised to see a drop approaching 40mm (30 according to Eibach). Handling improved - in terms of turn in especially, a harder ride barely noticeable though you are aware of more bumps. Too early to judge on tyre wear but boots don't last too long anyway as we all know.
Stealers price for a front spring £60+ so a 'no brainer' when you do the maths.
Whats the most you can lower the car without using uprated shocks? On my Corsa i could lower up to 40mm on standards. i lowered 60mm and used Apex sports shock absorbers, only problem is you can feel EVERY bump, i could drive over a matchstick and need to see the chiropractor straight away! I want a nice smooth relaxing ride but would love to lower it a bit!
Thanks
my cousin had 30mm PI lowering springs in his stilo with standard shocks, very smooth ride.
Personally I wouldnt recommend lowering without the use of shocks to match..reason being on a sports shock the piston length is shorter to accommodate the spring..simples..[squeak]..

Yeah, ideally you should upgrade the shocks at the same time as the springs. Saves on labour as well of course. From what I've heard though, 30mm should be okay but as PNL implies, having the shortened/stiffer springs will make the standard shocks wear quicker. Mind you, Coyle over on the Fiat Forum had Sportlines (50mm drop) on his 1.4 for around a year with no problems, though that is just about the lightest engine in the Stilo range.
For reference, cost all in of my Eibach Pro Dampers and Sportline Springs was around the £400 mark from Motorsport World and that was a few months ago. Love the handling of RGZ now, best mod I've done.
