Lowered Suspension - chirping noise.
Hi all, just had eibach pro kit springs fitted to my 3 door abarth and now I have a chirping noise coming from the front passenger side, there was no noise before they were fitted, garage seem to think it might be from the wishbone because the bush is on its way out, any ideas?

Re: Lowered Suspension - chirping noise.
All suspension components on the car should be in A1 condition before lowering springs are fitted..obviously you weren't to know that so now you have to start looking for the reason you have this noise..and the front lower arms and shocks would be the first port of call..check all joints on the lower arms and top mounts on the shocks..

Re: Lowered Suspension - chirping noise.
Sounds like you got a budgie stuck in there
Only chirps when you go on sort of smooth or bumpy roads
Anyhow sounds like top mount to me I had this when I had new springs fitted.
Go get yourself some 3in1 High perfomance lubrication/Silicone spray....Halfords and other motor factors normally do these.
Park car up and turn the wheel to the left. Open the bonnet and you'll notice that the rubber mount will be slighlty up unlike the drivers side spray a generous amount using the little straw type thing leave it for a coule of minutes to dry up. Then drive round for a bit see how it is.
You'll probably have to do this a couple of times before it goes. Hope this helps

Oh by the way if there is no wobbling in your steering whilst moving then it ain your wishbones plus if it were your wishbones your tyres would be knackering on the inside edge

Just to expand on that one a little more..wobbling can be the wheels out of balance and the tyre ware can be caused from tracking being out of alignment as well..

Re: Lowered Suspension - chirping noise.
I have the same kind of Budgie...
So it goes under the rubber mount then? This is without looking at the mount as i am in the office. :)
I also take it as that soon as you kill the Budgie it wont be coming back to haunt me when the lube runs out?
Cheers

Re: Lowered Suspension - chirping noise.
Lube only last so long and if its the top mount I would try and get it change eventually before you get the squealing when you steer left or right at low speed..now that IS bloomin annoying..

They certainly do go in one way only..

If you fitted them like this then your ok if not then you will have to do it again..cos the mount wont site right in the turret..
