Default 147 GTA Anti Roll Bar

    Hi guys,

I've asked this "elsewhere" :-) but I'm having no luck tracking down the answer... I couldn't even find it on the Greek forum!!!

Basically, I'd like to fit the 147 GTA anti roll bar to my Stilo Abarth (fancy a project :-) but I'm not sure whether it will fit. I'm sure that I've heard that it'll fit with a little fettling but it would be great to get it confirmed...

    Anyone have any idea?

    Cheers!

    G

    No idea,

What would the benefit be? Is it made of something stronger?

Ill have a look for a pic or something of a Stilo ARB and see if they are alike..

Well, Viggers believes that it's been done without too much fuss... either way, it's too late now because I've ordered one with bushes and mounting brackets for £63 :-)

The standard Stilo is 17mm diameter for all of the engines except the more powerful JTD and the manual Abarth which has 18mm. Given the weight of the 2.4 compared to the 1.2, 1.6 and the 1.8, I find it cack that the Abarth has the same ARB as the them. The 147 GTA has a 23mm ARB which should aid the handling a bit but proof will be in the driving! :-)

For £63 (plus £17 for the 147 drop links just in case), it's worth a play anyway :-)

Cool Re: 147 GTA Anti Roll Bar

I think its a worthwhile addition but the problem also lays with the crap rear suspension design ..the car shouldnt have a rear beam but an independent multi link set up with an arb ..but fiat with their cheap and cheerful idea's lets it down..unfortunately that cant be changed and your stuck with it..the one concern I would have with beefing up of the front is It might not balance out with the rear ..only trying it will tell if the set up will actually works..

2 of our members (Greek forum) fitted that Antiroll bar and they are VERY satisfied.
It is actually a bit difficult to fit it but its possible.

By testimonials, the car feels very polite on normal driving BUT very firm and stiff on tight and speed cornering...

As for the modification to fit it... i'll have to ask them. No idea...

Why don't you visit the Greek International section (check my signature) and ask!

Any information you can give me for the fitting would really be appreciated.

I've registered on the Greek site but I'm having some trouble trying to post... not helped by my ineptitude with the Greek language... everytime I try to post, I get bumped to a screen where it asks me to log out or go to the homepage :-(

    I'll keep trying :-)

I've found the language selection at the bottom! Woo hoo!!!!

Cheers! Good to be here! I've been out of the Stilo loop for a while due to personal problems but I'm getting back into it... actually, I have alot of time on my hands now, hence the little "projects" :-)
