Abz, the bearing is a doddle to fit, i got my new rear one from shop4parts, and it comes with a new "NUT", but before you go taking it all apart, make sure you have some good quality copper grease to apply also, which i forgot about ,and had to then drive in my missus car to the auto factor, with dirty hands (Oops!), she wasn;t very impressed :)

Should only take you 30 mins to complete, in fact if your brake pads are nearing change time, do these at the same time, cause you'll be taking the caliper apart to remove the disc anyway.

Thumbs up Re: Rear bearing question - moderately urgent

I'm going for the whole hub thingmy from shop4parts, as the rear discs are the originals I'm just going to have the discs, pads and handbrake cable(s) changed at the same time..... makes sense to me for, as you say, it's all got to come apart anyway.
So eBay and shop4parts will be getting some of my hard earned spondoolies this month
I may even change the other hub - just for the hell of it

I'm not doing it - no time/facilities at the moment, but off to my friendly local garage who will remember to send me the bill eventually
