would metal collar around the bush be needed in a polybush? i dont think it would. i know the metal insert in the middle bolt hole is needed.
any ideas on this?
was thinking something like this

I still dont think that this type of bush will have enough substance and strength to take the day in day out punishment it will have to take..remember the rear beam of the stilo is a one piece item and not a single top or bottom arm like they use on many rear suspension setups on cars these days [mine being one example] the stilo bush is metal with bonded rubber and oil filled and has much more substance and strength that a rubber bush with a metal insert..

I think soctty meant something along those lines but of PU construction. Would you still have those issues with polyurethane?
I think so yes..remembering that the stilo rear bush is metal with rubber core and if the metal was removed from the equation then the polly bush simply wouldn't hold firm in the mounting area of the rear beam..this kind of bush IMO would simply not do the job..would not need pressing in and be way to floppy for the job its meant to do..

if if the metal inner & outer casing of the bush was there and the rubber was replaced with PU would it not do the job?
i am meaning a complete replica of the standard bush with the rubber replaced with PU?
