1.6 brake discs and pads
hey,
i've mentioned it earlyier in a few threads, but i need my discs and pads changing, on the front especially as i dont think there is much of pads left there, so whilst doing that gonna do the discs aswell, just been lookin around for the discs, found a set on ebay they are drilled and grooved, the price is tempting, but i'm thinking whether they will last a season... can any1 give me a bit more opinion? as i will be paying about same for the bob standard ones if not more, so this kinda looks like a tiny upgrade also... i'm also thinking about getting ebc ultimax pads, any thoughts about them? read a few reviews and every1 are kinda happy with them also
cheers guys

im running ultimax pads on my 1.2 with standard discs and they give good performance.
discs seem to be a good price mate some places charge £60 per disc.
fiat themselves are around £90 per disc if i recall correctly.

well that's what i was thinking, as they are sort of upgrade from the standard, obviously it will depend on how long they will last... will order them probably next week for the fronts, the back will have to wait till the next pay day
and does any1 know what tool exactly is needed to replace the rear ones? as i think it would be handy to have one, obviously if the price will be same as going to the garage and doing it there, plus the work obviously...

Tool for the rear ones? When mechanic done mine he just needed a caliper rewinder tool to rewind the calipers back in.

As long as it does the job. I know one of mine was really easy and you could have probably done using the same method, and the other was a pig and really only do able with the correct tool

its usually the passenger side that is the issue
it winds anticlockwise i think
heres a few caliper rewind tools on amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&k...l_3329v3vodf_e
but this is the tool for the job as it has a left side rewind and right side rewind http://www.amazon.co.uk/PIECE-BRAKE-...3325600&sr=8-3
