Cambelt / Aux belt... today is the day.
So Mrs Ffoxy's 1.2 is in for surgery today, 6 years old and 42,000 miles.
I had a job explaining why we should spend £160 on summat that aint broke....
She wont ever understand mechanical stuff thats my job, but Jeez....
Car had an MoT and Service a few weeks back, will they be dropping any oil or coolant out for this job? Cant see why the oil, but does the job involve water pump replacement, or should it?
Gonna get a quote for my MJet cambelt etc swap when we pick the Stilo up, tempus fugit, my car is now 3 years old and has 51,000 miles on it!

Cool! (pun intended) :-) The car hasnt shown any signs of overheating, but I have seen on another Forum that there is some concerns about using the coolant additive Fiat have been recomending since 19bow&arrow... the blue Paraflu.
Anyone else put some fact based evidence into that?
Rumour is that the stuff causes early water pump failure.
Maybe it wont happen as our quality indepependent doesnt use Paraflue but a quality alternative.

surprised their dropping the oil out as well..shouldn't need to for the cam belt..

Water pump shouldnt need replacing on the first belt and if you havnt had any over heating problems then its really up to you if you have that one done..for the cost of the part tho and while their at it I suppose it would make sence.. if she had the
JTD then I would say most definitely cos they do suffer with premature pump failure [impeller drops off]
Was just me wondering if they might drop the oil Phil, as I said, I cant see why they would and I trust them.
As far as the MJet goes that WILL be getting a water pump at cambelt time, along with the full tensioner kit.
