    Default clutch and gearbox problems

    as some of you may have read the stilo was in for a clutch and crankseal they rung me today and said there is two 1 inch holes in my diff and that the gearbox has lost all its oil i dint belive them cos the gearbox seemed fine no crunching or vibrations so im going to have a look tomorrow does anybody know were i can get a new gearbox from the midlands area ? and good salvage yards ?

    Mmm another crap gearbox from fiat bites the dust..Roy Lovelock had the same with a gearbox of his ..a pin had come adrift inside the diff and punched its way out through the casing..all down to poor assembly he thought at the manufacturers..best bet for you now crossy is to have a ring around or fill in a request form online with a breaker..should be plenty of 1.6 boxes floating around..

    as Phil says ring around. you could buy one anywhere in the country and use www.shiply.com to get it delivered, you basically post whatever you want delivered up and 100's of delivery firms "tender" for it they bid for the work. works out pretty cheap

    yeah tried all that but the cheapest viable option is £325 for a recon would any other fiat 1.6 fit ? bravo or anthing else?

    Not that I personally know of..anyone else know if any other box will fit..?

    5dr and 3dr boxes are different so its ok if yours is a 5dr..

    well i spoke with my dad and he reckon that aint a bad price and then i get a warrenty with it as well so the total cost is now £480 for a new clutch and recon gearbox and he will fit my starter

    thats a damn good price mate, my first box was £250, 2nd box was £300 and 3rd Box was £350. thats for second hand boxes not even Recondition. no warranty either

    6speed 1.2 boxes are hard to get over here. that why they ar eso expensive

    yeah just hope there will be now more problems just got to sort the engine fault and the remote central locking
