Fitting electric door cards with manual windows
Hi
Bought a black leather interior if ebay today got it home and realised it is electric window rear door cards and our stilo having window winders
has anybody had this problem before and overcome it ?
i dont fancy fitting electric windows in the back to be honest
im going to have a look tomorrow at the winders and see if its possible to just drill a hole in the new cards for the winder to poke through
if not im thinging i could try and take the leather section off of the complete door card and to the same to my fabric ones and swap them over
not sure how to re secure them again other than glue wich im not sure will be strong enough
anybody tried this before either ?

Re: Fitting electric door cards with manual windows
I think you are the first person to actually mention this ..It must have been a special order car the one the interior came off.. I would be quite comfortable converting the rear cars to manual winders but you have to be absolutely confident you can do it before you start to cut into the cards cos once you have cut there is no going back..:)

Re: Fitting electric door cards with manual windows
the other weired bit is the back drivers side were the window winder is/will go there is a tweeter hole/vent
but only on the drivers side the passenger is plain
if it goes wrong i can alway strip the leather section off and try and put it on the existing card
think there will be a lot of swapping over the best parts of the two interiors
cant complain got the full interior, door cards and centre console and a few other bits for £100

Re: Fitting electric door cards with manual windows
line up your old cards with your new ones mark them with chalk and drill like a man possessed, thats how i would do it, use a small drill bit as i pilot hole and work your way up, through bigger bits. your winder should cover it mate, can you take the arm rest bit off your old cards and switch it onto your new ones. so then you wont have elec window switches??

take your time and mesure everything at least twice. best of luck!
