is there anyway of locking the car with the bonnet open? then put a multimeter on the battery and check if there is a drain on the battery? just an idea

its possible but there is a sensor on the bonnet catch that i presume would affect the operation of the alarm system, so it would just be a case of getting around that i reckon ??????

Back on topic.
Bit of blu-tak on the button will stop that happening, you can put a multimeter on the battery and check for the current drain.
If you are still abit unsure im sure the boys at kwik fit etc do a free battery check, as do most lucas/varta stockists iirc.
Just dont buy anything from them![]()
quick update....been fine since monday with out arming alarm....no drain starting first touch yay! will try it with the alarm at the weekend and get the battery checked and take it from there.
Why not put a some decent wiring on teh battery, run it outside the bonnett, close bonnet, attach multi meter to wiring. SIMPLES!
well all is ok ,must have been the battery strong enough.

thanks for all the advise
