stilo battery draining overnight ?????
hi guys,
i have just bought an 02 plate abarth and love it but the battery seems to be draining overnight, i have put another one on and it started straight away. went to start it up the next day and nothing just click,,click,,click,,click,,stick the charger on it and within 10 mins it fires up.
any ideas as to what could be draining it ...is it just me ..was the nice bloke who sold it to me not so nice ???
could it be the alarm or is the battery the wrong type with to low a mah rating..would that make a difference.
any ideas
thanks..

Re: stilo battery draining overnight ?????
First off it could only be a duff battery in the first place simply past its sell by and not holding a charge ..also it can be electrical systems causing a discharge but as the drain is so quick I'd say its probably the battery that has had it..its always been recognised that the stilo needs a high amp jobby like the one on the jtd to keep all false warnings and the like away so i would get the charge rate of the battery checked and also the alternator checked at the same time to make sure thats doing its job..

Agree with PNL here, battery must be a DUD mate, get a high output battery i have a heavy duty diesel battery in my stilo, they are around £35.

click click click, could be a Duff starter motor. You want to get your self a decent charger / battery conditioner too, as your current ( : ) ) battery may only need a proper discharge and recharge,
I use a C-Tek system, they come with a quick attachment for the battery so you can plug it in, in seconds. (Without even opening your bonnett!)

Bascially i have a C-tek system which is very reliable.
Approx £55 i can get them for.
Also has functions for Vans, M/cycles (yuk!!) and Completely dead batteries to get them safely charged. Thumbs up from me

Re: stilo battery draining overnight ?????
thanks for the replies guys, well didnt lock the car with the alarm armed last night just locked it by the door lock , started first time today no problems...cant test it again with the alarm on untill the weekend when i have a day off work so my wife doesnt have to put the charger on it just in case it doesnt start.
so it may be the alarm.....any one heard of this happening before , is it possible to check the alarm for excesive drain if so how?.
