Hi there ive got a 1.2 5dr stilo and need to replace the clutch anyone ...

    Hi there ive got a 1.2 5dr stilo and need to replace the clutch anyone got any advice on this as never worked on a Fiat only other makes, making sure there are no special tools involved

    no special tools required mate, i done the clutch on my 1.2 -3door, and the only thing we didnt have was the clutch lining tool. i lined the clutch with my finger, lol, proper job!

    yeah casing on the stilo came away 100% mate, just make sure you have all the bolts out, lol i made that mistake on a 2002 shogun, top bolt was still in place and i broke the casing, whoops. lol. got the piece welded back on and it was a good job.(pig of a gearbox to take out, its about 4/5 feet long.)

    yeah i'll make sure i get all the bolts out, pain when u break things off, iff to make some phone calls to get a price for the clutch kit.

    i dont know about the 1.2 but im assuming its the same, make sure you remove the complete gearbox mount under the battery tray, dont just unbolt and leave the rest in place.
    the mount gets in the way when trying to put the box back onto the engine, it took me a hour of messing around on my car before i realised that it was this preventing the box going in.

    Got the clutch done cheeted got a little garage to do it, charged me £100 to fit and £80 for the valio clutch kit
