    Default Steering wheel contols

    Hi all,

I have a 2003, 53plate, 1.2 3 door stilo (with original mats )and I don't have steering wheel controls for the radio on mine and I want them. How do I go about it and how easy is it to fit either the controls or another steering wheel with controls. To add on how does one check whether they have the wiring before hand. Pics if anyone has any would be helpful.

Many thanks for your input in advance.

From what I have read in the past it is very difficult due to the airbag.

Ill check the stuff I have at home later and post more back. The button part will be plug and play as it just connects into the interior can network.

Yes I did Crossy but I like my stereo..........Could be an option though I am still thinking about it like most things I might just leave it if it's too much of a hassle.

Try speaking to your local Fiat dealer first and with a little sly questioning you will be able to extract from them how they would do it. It may be something that you could do yourself, if it is just a case of finding one at a scrap yard and swapping it with yours.

Yeah I'm in the process of upgrading my HU with a touchscreen DVD/MP3 etc player but I still want to be able to use my steering wheel controls. Trouble is the interface cables cost about £120 from Autoleads so my wallet is having an arguement with my desires over the cost.

Yeah but it all depends on which head unit you have. Added to which I need 2 leads for my HU, one for the HU and an additional connector for the steering wheels controls, also Autoleads are the only company who make these.
