Dodgy wipers problem
Today, I used my Stilo in the rain for the first time. I haven't had it long. The wipers wiped, but then they stopped, pointing diagonally across the windscreen. Then they started again, then they stopped at a different point, almost straight up. Then the stayed stopped, no moving the stalk up and down did anything. Then the started again, and worked for a bit then stopped again pointing straight up.
When I got to work, I had a chance to play with them a bit. They are the automatic rain sensing type.
Anyway, with the engine off, I can hear the relay click as they turn on to intermediate, then after about 3 and a half strokes, the relay clicks again and they stop.
Anyone got any ideas what electrical gremlin I have got here?
Any7 thoughts? I assume there is an electrical contact in the wiper linkage that detects the resting point?
Is there are control from the relay that could be causing the problem?
The same thing happens if the wipers are on manual, work a bit, stop in a weird place, work a bit, stop. I can always hear the relay clicking in and out.
Any thoughts gladly accepted.

Re: Dodgy wipers problem
you didnt try changing the relay, even if the relay clicks it may be faulty

Re: Dodgy wipers problem
I was thinking about this, the problem went away yesterday after the car had been sitting in the sun, then came back first thing this morning when it was cold a wet and miserable. Is it possible this contact strip and gubbins is temperature sensative?
Finally, how do I go about stripping it all out to do the maintenance?
Cheers
