    Sound bad? It could be.......
It may have hit the national news that there was severe flooding in parts of Aberdeenshire last Sun/Mon. Yours truly and the silver beastie got caught up in the worst of it on Sunday, amazingly the Stilo made it through floods up to 18 inches deep (seriously!) without faltering and was doing fine until some feckin idiot in a Mitsubishi 4x4 drowned 'us' in a flood..... the old girl died there and then. Said Mitsubishi then had an accident and I just about pissed myself laughing.

Fortunately, in the pitch black, I managed to get the Stilo pushed out of the water (had my fishing waders with me so at least I didn't get wet) and after I'd had a fag (and checked the oil for water) and 'chilled' a bit, resisting the urge to walk up to the mitsi driver and deck him, the car turned over and started at the 1st time of asking.

I was amazed it started. So I limped the rest of the way home knowing I had a slightly 'sickly' Stilo. Monday morning and it started on the button, no problem.... but a quick road test showed all not well. I cleaned down the electrics and generally applied as much TLC as I could but I had to get up to Inverness and risked the 75 mile drive over some remote and 'interesting' roads.

We made it, but all is not well. The beastie was well down on power, suspect there's many problems but I have no warning lights. Left it overnight in the centrally heated garage here at Coastguard towers in Inverness and took to the dealer yesterday.... but no turbo power....... odd....... give you an idea of how much water there was the n/s headlight was half full

Anyway, it's in at the Fiat dealers (no word yet) but I've got a bad, bad feeling that there's going to be a very unhelpful verdict from them. Bloody irritating if that is the case as I've only just got the Schumi bumper I've been after for bloody ages.

Watch this space.... as they say.

Indeed, suspect it must have been a wee bit odd for the folk standing around watching a grown man climbing out of the drivers door window with chest waders on! Would have been a wee bit damp on the inside otherwise!

Hi mate i'm hoping its something simple, if its the turbo power, The water may have ingressed on the turbo pressure sensor (Yes that lovely little bit of kit again), as its connections are not best, if that knackers up (like usual) then it'll seriously effect your turbo.

Now sorry if i;ve asked you this before had yourTPS been repositioned up near the battery tray (This reason being why people started moving them casue water effects them very VERY easily!),

hope its sorted mate, fingers crossed for you, as you've not had much luck of late.

Had heard about the floods from others over on the FS site, Stuarty - the chap with the v6 Vectra said his was suffering from issues after the weather as well as one or two other people.

Hope it's nothing too serious with yours and you were indeed lucky with the induction kit having been removed. Would've ended up being new engine ala Coyle situation if that had been on

Well, the dealers have just come over the 'phone..... and......

    IT LIVES

The airbox was doing a reasonable impression of a swimming pool (apparently) so one new air filter in dried out airbox and an all new MAF - the other one died

Overboost/tps valve (already on battery tray) was fine which is cool

So all in around £330 to fix it. Balls, there goes my wifes Christmas present errr. .... I mean, there goes my nice new fishing rod

Phil - yeah, I'd have been buggered with a standard GSR on! Fortunately....... well, it's in the shed.
