can i get this fan to work from a 2.4

to cut long story short i dont have any $$$$ left to buy new parts or second hand
car has cost me enough already so i have to make do with what i have

basicly i have the 1.2 active stilo and i have fan + fan housing and radiator from the 2.4
i know the radiator will work as i was told on forum

but i want to know if i can use the 2.4 fan without ecu with my 1.2
the 2.4 fan has a different connector but it still has the 2 wires black and red
but it has a ecu or something shown in pics

could i simply lop the connector off and do same with mine then rejoin the 2.4 connector to my wiring as mine has only 2 wires alo red and black

this a 2.4 connector

this is a 1.2

thus not needing that ecu hopefully
please peeps can you help me with this

12V DC is 12V DC, so if your car has black/red connect that to the black/red on your fan you should be fine.

If you want to make 100% sure beforehand, do you have a battery charger or something you can use to power the fan off the car?

Just make sure your fingers are clear of the fan rotors or your project may take a little longer.

I cant vouch for the fan unless that box is a controller for the speed or something, or it might be controlled over CAN bus or something.

i think if you bypass the fan speed controller the fan will come on all the time with the ignition. not too sure though, worth a try

There goes Scottie trying to turn your Stilo into a Spitfire wreksta lol,
As Dan says mate, the fan should work fine as they basically are just + and - fitting, that module you refer to, may be a relay as the 2.4 fan may draw a wee bit more power from the car, so it may have an additional + input from say the alternator directly (Just hazarding a guess!)

i cant see why it would mate as my 1.2 dont have fan speed controller
something that alams me is i would need such a resistor in place to run the fan slower
or would it be fine running it the way it is

oh right if the 1,2 doesnt have a fan speed controllers you should be alright just joining the red and black wires, sorry for the confusion i have only seen a jtd rad and fan setup which has a fan speed controller
