    Question Headlight advice needed

    Hmmmmm - odd one.
I did have the 'notorious' Stilo headlamp motor fault some months back (groaning headlight motors). Obviously, I largely ignored it at the time.
However, driving back to Aberdeenshire from Inverness last night has changed my mind. Something needs to be done as I suspect the lights are pretty much at their lowest setting and except on main beam the lights are distinctly pants
Obviously, I'm unable to adjust them using the electronic adjuster.......
Now I seem to recall that the motors can be changed but has anyone done this and how much of a hassle is it?

May be easier mate to source some replacement headlight units (And cheaper!),
See if Scottie still has his on his Breaking Stilo, i'm sure you can talk him into a good deal,
either way is a headlight out jobbie, along with everything else you have to dismantle to get to the bloody things,
And while your at it, you can install a nice HID kit

I have considered this...... but would need to be new as secondhand may yield the same fault.....

Ahhh now then...... the thought has been running around in my head that this could be a worthwhile modification but only worth doing when the Schumi bumper goes on.
Might as well do it all at once

    To be honest mate
I've owner my Stilo for nearly 6 years now, and i cant recall (Other than when i'm fiddling about through boredom), when i last used my headlight levelling system, I know i should cause i have used the old MW lany a time for lugging heavy stuff about, but i still never touched the levellers.
I'd go for the replacements units and throw the HID's in whilst i was at it,
There!, i've made your mind up for you, Less thinking time = more drinkning time :)

Thumbs up Re: Headlight advice needed

Well...... thanks to Phil I now have some brighter bulbs in the car and they've made a big difference Top tweak.

I opted for the expensive option as I wanted to get to the bottom of the moaning / grinding headlight motor so off to the Fiat dealers it went to have a look see and fit my nice new shiny bulbs (largely 'cos I couldn't be arsed doing it myself ).

Just in case I needed it I'd also bought a spare headlight from Scottie...... just to be safe you understand.
Unfortunately, both headlights have the same fault, a buggered threaded 'bit' that the motor works on
So there was no advantage to fitting the replacement unit as it's no better than the one in the car. To sort it will cost some £70 in bits plus an alarming amount of labour costs as the bumper has to come off. So, in the interim, the boys at the dealers have jigged the lights so I can see where I'm going and in the long term a replacement will have to be found when the Schumi bumper gets fitted
