    Does the lid need to be off of the resiviour when bleeding using the gravilty fed method?

    i would assume so, i always leave the lid off when bleeding brakes

    Yes Jon but if its just to get the bit point back then the fluid should just flow itself without any need if you use the guide method..if you want a fuller bleed then you will need to connect one of those top up whatsits to the res to save you loosing all fluid [auto top mode] and pressure bleeder..sure you know what I mean by that..you not stupid your well versed in this kind of thing..
