My car appears to be better now. Every now and again the revs will drop to about 600 but it's not often and the main thing is it isn't cutting out. This means that once the variator has been changed, it should run like an absolute dream! It's at the top of the agenda!

Dony forget to get that other sensor done too,

Im sure the camshaft position sensor is behind one of the pulleys so get that done at the same time. It can cause problems like you are experiencing.

There you go £58.40+VAT for the part, from a Fiat dealer considerably more. It would normally log a DTC when this happens and store it so if the garage you are going to can run a diagnostic on the car before it normally shows up.

Well judging by the last diagnostic test I had, the only error I'm aware of is the relay in the climate control unit. There wasn't anything regarding a sensor as such, but then it could have popped up since the last test. I shall keep the link bookmarked just incase I need to get the part.
