My sister also just bought a 5 door stilo JTD 115hp and she's having trouble with the wind screen wiper system.

What happens is, when the system is turned on in any position (washer, intermitent, slow and fast) the blades start working and after +-5 wipes they usually stop at the middle of the wind screen. The rear wiper is working fine.

In intermittent mode the beaviour is the same as described before but the wipers doen't stay off like at other positions, the cycle of several wipes restart after some seconds as if the system that commands the 1 wipe stroke at a time is still working but it wipes several times instead of only once.


I've also noticed that when parking the car in reverse with the front windscreen wipers on, the rear wiper starts automatically, working fine as usual and after parking the car and taking out of reverse the front blades started to work normal in all positions without exception. After a wile the problem returns. Tested this behavior 3 times and worked, don't know if happens always.


Does anyone knows what is going on with this crazy wipers?

there may be a problem with your wiper stalk could need replacing

If they stop in the middle of the screen then it sounds like wiper motor to me. There are contacts in it to tell it where to park that sometimes get gunked up. Someone else will probably be along shortly with a 'how to' on a fix.

And that the three sping contact in this picture are making contact..



Also worth checking is the wipers earth..under the washer bottle..
