While searching the net i came across this thread emergency!! Selespeed gearbox error and jesus its my car i bought the car of tubis the start of january so im unsure if its clutch as the car has been running fine upto now no slip or anything is it going to be the sensor more than tthe clutch?

Hi

Took the sensor out this morning looked at the pins there ok no water inside the plug. Put back on the laptop and get P1743-Clutch Sensor and the wording at the bottom of the program- Clutch sensor error, check lines, wiring and sensor.
The reason for this fault is that ECU has received very high signal from the sensor. The fault is present now. Take appropriate action to fix this sensor fault. Dashboard warning light was activated for this fault. Should i bite the bullet ring my local fiat dealer and order one?

Could be but they arent cheap, im sure they are around the £100 mark. I cant actually find it on the parts catalogue unless does it have the part number on it?

I rang my dealer and they told me the clutch speed sensor was different to the clutch sensor? They told me the clutch sensor sits on top of the selespeed pump? Im scouring the net but i cant find no info on this at all i can find is the clutch postion sensor is that the one? I want to confirm that the one he has is the one i need as my local fiat group said the sensor i asked for was £128 where as the speed sensor is about £50

Can you get the part numbes from them then we can check for you. I dont think its the selespeed pump one its the speed one. I did say I think though..

Il try get numbers but that means stripping down half the car lol? and im unsure what the one looks like on the pump i got the speed one out is there anyway to check by using the parameters or checking the resistance of the sensor as i dis notice you get live data with the with fiat ecu scan
