Default rear parking sensor failure - any ideas?

Just got a rear parking sensor failure warning light on the dash. Have turned the ignition on and off a few times and the car in and out of reverse a couple of times but to no avail, it comes up after it has done it's diagnostic check, has anybody got any ideas? Nothing has been done to the rear of the car, so is it agremlin or a real fault?

Does this error prevent the sensors from actually working or is it just appearing on the display? May seem like a stupid question, but this is a Stilo lol! It may help narrow down and find a solution. Fuses would seem like a sensible place to start though

I have the same problem lcd display and yellow triangle showing every time I start the car. Just came on one evening, my local garage has told me its a failed sensor. I now have to take it to Fiat to find out which one on the diagnostics. Well thats going to cost £41 just for a start. I have tried to disconnect it at the rear bumper but fault still shows, I have disconnected the battery and cleaned the D4 connector with no joy. So I think this is a real fault and not the Stilo having a wobbly.

maybe goto a scrappy and see if you can get a set of second hand ones and replace them one by one to see if you can find which is at fault?
