Guys I am back and as usual bit confused and worried. As I mentioned before really struggling with money so I just parked the Stilo and never got chance to have a look at things, well not even went near car till yesterday to find battery was flat, ok well rang a friend who is a taxi driver and got a 55 plate 2000cc Mondeo. Tried to jump start with no success
Had a look online and found that stilo shouldn't be jump start because it can fry the ecu. My car never went further than click but the inside light came on very very bright
    Have I roasted the ECU?
Please help again, sorry for being very slow but I am just not very technical

Any cars ECU be damaged with jump starting if done incorrectly, but it's very unlikely it'll happen. However if your Stilos battery is completely flat jumping will not start it which I suspect is the case here. You need to put it on charge overnight and she should start ok.

Thanks for the reply guys, there was a post on FIATFORUM

Technical: ECU - Don't Jump Start! - The FIAT Forum proper scared me

I have got a little jump start kit, will that charge the battery? Or do I have to take it to garage and ask them to charge it for me?

Well if you read that thread you will see the correct info from Ian aka T14.. he tells you to use a pulse charger which is the correct method to use..we also on here give the same info.. http://www.clubfiat.net/tech/1766-st...overnight.html not to keen on jump start kits being used on a stilo myself I think a sudden volage spike could cause you all sorts of problems IMHO..the electronics are very touchy so I personally think its always best to err on the side of caution
