    Angry Stilo Dead Battery

Hi all , would love some assistance from all you wonderful people. About 3 months ago my battery on the Stilo went flat (it had been standing approx 2 weeks) so after a jumpstart off it went. The car was used constantly for the next month without any hiccup. I parked it up on the friday night and when I went to it on the sunday it was dead again. Again a quick jumpstart and off I went.
I had no problems for about a month until it was due for MOT , went to start it on the morning of the MOT and nothing. Jumped it and got it to the test centre where I told them what had happened. About an hour later had a numpty ring me to inform me my battery was flat. I explained what had happened and he said he would get me a new one because there must be a problem with it ( I hadnt changed it in the 3 years I have had the car) . Been driving it now for 3 weeks without a problem and parked it up thursday eve, Went to it this morning DEAD as a dodo. I know I switched the radio off way before I got home and the lights were switched off. Now apart from the alarm I cant think of what can drain it but dont think the alarm would drain it in 36 hours. Any ideas ? My thinking is alternator but surely it would have gone flat quicker as most of my journeys are short. Up until 3 months ago I have never had a problem and have not fitted any extra electrics to it

in my opinion i think it maybe your alternator as well mate
    what stilo have you got?
    i have a 1.2 and i fitted a heavy duty diesel battery i think its a Varta.
you test your alternator i would let the car run and get an amp meter on it, your battery should got from 12v to around 14v to show a healthy charge

could easily be the alternator. It may even be charging, and thats why its lasting so long, but could be draining when left. I had the exact problem on my MGF - which i know is a different kettle of fish compared to the stilo, but still.
The regulator i think is the bit that causes the problem? New alternator sorted it out for me.

I suggest using a multi meter to see if you have a drain on the battery.
Only 9.80KB for a sig? WTF.

Thanks for your help , I will use my multimeter on it and see what happens but gripping the seat tightly waiting for the cost of an alternator lol

Just to thank you all for your help and to update the outcome. I took it to a local company to check the battery out and they said the battery that was installed by the garage was not man enough for the job. I had a new one fitted and have had no problems ever since. The garage that initially fitted the battery refunded me the money after I had given them the battery they installed back
