Good Morning ,

I am a new user, and I'm from the Western Isles of Scotland ,

I live on the Isle of Barra, Being so far away from civilisation forums like this are invaluable,

I have owned my Stilo 1.9 jtd Dynamic for almost 2 years,

On a recent journey to the shops, I went to put the car into 2ng gear and when I released the cluth , the car jumped out of gear, :-(

When Im sat Still It will go through all of the gears ok , but when driving it will goes into second but just jumps out,


I am leaving the Island on Tuesday to make the 400 mile journey to Telford In Shropshire , where I used to live,

I have been triying to call garages for quotes for work, I explain the problem and they seen to be thinking in the ' 2nd gear hub '


Has anybody else had this problem , or can anybody shed any light on the problem

Try to double clutch second, 1st to neutral let clutch out,put clutch in shift to second let clutch out and see what happens. I spent 2 years in the HOLY LOCH 1967 to 1969. Two of the best years of my life. No Fiats in SCOTLAND then. I remember a bunch of FORD CORTINAS. I had a 650 BSA that I shipped back to the US. Wish I had kept it. You live in a beautiful place.
