    Default fiat stilo 2002 1.9 jtd airbag problem & others

    Hi all, just had my stilo for 2 days now, yesterday had the turbo replaced and full service. But the computer is saying airbag problem, the trader i bought it off belives the airbag senser under the seat is the cause, the garage I had it at yesterday belives its a senser in the passenger head rest area?

    So my question is, can i fix it by;

    -replacing with a fiat sensor in the passenger seat?
    -puting a occupancy sensor in under the passenger seat?
    -or replacing the whole seat?
    I know this could just be the connections I l have a crack at it tomorrow.

    Another problem is my parking sensors dont appear to work, and the mpg is being a pain to keep up on the computer for driving with.

    Other then the above Im cuffed with the car, its got some power with the new turbo and has extras I never expected from a fiat. People took the mick out of me for getting a fiat, but my last car was a ford ka, and after i paid £500 to get it fixed up, it never let me down, and towed others out of the snow!

    Hi. Welcome to the forum.

    It's more than likely to be the connectors under the front seats (especially if it's a 3-door), so I'd look at cleaning these up first. Failing that it really could be anything so I'd get the code read to save waisting money on something it isn't.

    The parking sensors, are they OEM factory fit ones or after Market? And does the car have a tow bar? Equally do the reverse lights work?

    With regards to the MPG and trip data, what's it doing exactly when you say you having issues keeping it up on the display?

    Hi MEP,
    Cheers I'l check the connectors, went to halfords but they were sold out of the contact spray. Whats the code read? I thought when they did the diagnostic it would show up. I think
    the parking sensors are factory fit as they look well aged, but I'v looked up on ebay and I can get a replacement kit for £21. Theres no towbar, and the reverse light works.

    When I go through the menu, i scroll down, i can changed temp etc, but can't get MPG to select, my mate did it when he drove the car back when we bought it, but it just wont do it again lol.

    The mpg is brought onto the screen using the trip button on the end of the wiper stalk not using the menu button on the dash console.

    With regards to the airbags again, you need to get a garage to read the fault code (plug their computer in) to tell you the exact problem with them so you know what to fix.
