Stilo ECU / Cheapy Galletto Clone Adventures
Right I got myself a Stilo 1368cc ECU (Bosch ME7.3) from someone who got the whole engine for a conversion.
I got it basically to test out a galletto/kwp2000+ and make sure they read/write 100% before letting it anywhere near my car. Question is I cannot get it to read on the bench in bootmode with my kwp2000+. Does it need to be in the car with the immobiliser hardware attached?

Re: Stilo 1.4 ECU Q's
I'm thinking the 1.4 just might be using the same ECU as the Panda 100hp [havnt checked] and if thats the case no one as yet has managed to crack it..check if its the same one and if you can get it to read your on a winner..
International man of mystery
Wit, sarcasm, you get it all from me..

Re: Stilo 1.4 ECU Q's
Is it the KWP2000 or are you using the Galletto, if os is it the 1260 or 1250?
Have you connected the ECU upto a power supply?
Check it is stable and at the correct voltage.

Re: Stilo 1.4 ECU Q's
Right,
Im at work so bear with me.In respect to the KWP2000+ The ECU is on the bench, 12.5v stable (ive got a 10A bench PSU). Ive got all the +12V feeds connected as well as all the -0v and K line connected. Ive also tried pulling pin 20 low to force bootmode but that doesnt work either.
I havent yet tried the galletto but thats my next one, but I will have the break the pins out to wire it up on the bench, its a 1250 (didnt see the point in 1260 as dont need the vista compatibility)

Re: Stilo 1.4 ECU Q's
Plus most of the 1260's are fake rip offs.
you may find that your ECU is "Write only" Dan, (A popular thing with Fiats, in which case your toying with it woud involve getting a file (ensuring compatibility) and writing it to the ECU, you will still need to "Wake up" the ECU using your KWP2000 software

Re: Stilo 1.4 ECU Q's
Thats why I didnt bother - all 1260s are fake rip offs, you could make your own 1260 if I wanted, you just change the FTDI chip and use the patched software..
Ill have a go with the galletto when I get in and see how it goes. Take it you flash yours on the bench too crosshairs?

Re: Stilo 1.4 ECU Q's
Sorry mate, edited the last post, whilst you typed out your one silly me.
I dont use Galletto or KWP,
Use the Dimsport systems

Re: Stilo 1.4 ECU Q's
Ill have a look, its the ME731H4 iirc, which is suppose to be read/write in bootmode.
I think the KWp2000+ gets the info for the 'Data' function using the KWP2000 protocol over the K line. For the K-line to wake up usually requires the immobiliser hardware attached.
Looking at the galletto, doesnt look like it does so I shall try that, as I cant try the 1.4 16v ECU in my car as its an abarth.

Yes mate, joined a bit ago.
I know what you mean about the mods but I agree with it really, theres some belter horror stories on there.
I posted a question but no one has replied. I just think people genuinely dont know, as other new members have had responses reagarding using clone hardware.
