i think....with all the hassle and headaches i am reading, i'd rather pay a bit of cash to get a garage to custom build it into my engine. worry free ! :D

Getting really, REALLY sick of this - have order yet another part due to the fact that the damn normal intake has an inner layer of resin. This resin isn't a regular diameter all the way round either but spent the best part of 2 hours trying to sand it down to make it fit round the t-piece I bought. I even tried re-shaping said t-piece to reduce it's diameter (smallest I could find on the site) and it still wouldn't go on.
So now I've got a cut up intake pipe and need to wait for a 90 degree silicone bend to come which will go on the throttle body and the t-piece which I need to reshape AGAIN. Car might be out of action for a few days while I wait of course unless I stick a sock over the throttle body or something and have a coke bottle to act as an oil catch. Really fecking pissed off right now!![]()
okay mate calm down your car won't be out of action. goto your mrs's drawer and steal a pair of tights and stick them over the throttle body, it will let you away for a couple of days, itll be loud, it'll drink alot of petrol but you'll be able to drive the car. just make sure you secure the tights with something so they are not sucked into the engine

Yeah, that's the first thing I've done after realising I wasn't going to solve it today, secured it with a hose clip. Got an Irn Bru bottle to act as a catch tank as well, not pretty but it'll do.
Just waiting for the next thing to go wrong with it though. Hoping the 90 degree silicone pipe I've gotten will do the trick now and hopefully it'll come before the weekend.
bet it sounds mad with the exposed TB.
hopefully your 90 will sort it out mate, is there much oil vapour out of the breather pipe?
you could install a proper catch can and have a return line on it drilled and tapped into the sump

It does sound rather interesting, yeah.
Did a short run yesterday of around 20 miles to the cinema and back and checked the bottle - not a lot if any oil vapour seems to have been vented. Thankfully I'm off the now, so keeping driving to a minimum until the parts arrive. Just got that Fiat Scotland meet on Sunday, so hoping the parts arrive by tomorrow or Saturday. Not sure about doing 100 miles or so driving in the state that it's in.
it wont really matte mate, it'll just use more fuel and remember to keep your distance from the car in front, dont want any spray/sh!t going through the tights.
