    Default Novitec Induction

    Hi,
Been toying with the idea of getting a BMC CDA induction kit for my Abarth, but was searching around on the net and found this from Novitec:

    NOVITEC ONLINE SHOP 2007

Anyone heard anything about these or had any experience with them?

Also what's the cheapest you've found the BMC CDA for? I found it for £184.32 + £8.50 postage from:

FIAT STILO BMC CDA Kit £184.32 at Motorsport World

    Cheers
    Ben

to be honest mate, i wouldnt buy it as it sits right ontop of the exhaust manifold and no heatsheild to protect it from heat soak.
the BMC looks good as its low in the engine bay and i think its an enclosed filter.

Yea I've been keeping an eye on his thread.

I know in the pic the Novitec filter is over the manifold but i just thought that that was a generic pic and maybe the 2.4 version was different. I've heard good things about the BMC, just a bit pricey, that's why I was looking at possible alternatives! So has anyone seen one of the Novitec kits in the flesh, just wondered what they were like, mainly out of curiosity!

Just found this pic of an Alfa with a novitec induction, looks as if they are all in that position over the manifold then.

Do you think I'd notice much difference between the BMC or the K&N panel filter i've currently got installed?

ah i see, look like they are probably all like that mate.
you'd only really notice a difference with a remap mate, though with the induction kit it would feel a bit faster due to the added noise.

Had been considering the BMC myself but the price of it and not being sure of the performance gain I'd get from it on the 1.2, I decided to build my own (as you've seen). Regal do a BMC style kit of their own, may be just as good and you knock a "1" off the start of the price...

Apiro DIAVOLO Carbon-Fibre Forced Air Induction Kit

Noticed the Novitec system myself as well, but the pic in the link showing it on the 1.4 would be the exact same set up as the 57i kit and probably the Powertec/Pipercross (not the Viper of course) set ups. K&N Typhoon's meant to be alright, but you pay a fair whack for it and I think GSR still do a kit, but the less said about that the better

However, I think Greggers (not sure if he's on here often) has a combination of GSR hoses with a BMC filter and if memory serves this is seemingly the best set up to have for the 2.4. Not the easiest or cheapest to set up though.

Yea I do like the GSR hose and the Typhoon looks nice but is too dear!
I have been intrigued by those BMC knock off's found one on ebay:
UNIVERSAL CARBON FIBRE INDUCTION KIT AIR FILTER + HOSE on eBay (end time 14-Feb-10 1508 GMT)

I just wondered how they'd fit with the MAF, as the BMC comes with an adapter thing I think, would you need to get something like this as well:
Induction Adapter plate flange opel vw HP bosch 76mm on eBay (end time 24-Jan-10 2027 GMT)

Never fitted one but from what I have seen the maf fits direct to the CDA..forget the GSR kit the tooling is probably long gone and cut up and floating around in something else..I built the last tooling for the 2.4 with him cos he said he had lost the previous one [now the f*ck do you loose a chunk of pipe work ]..but I now believe that was also cut up because he was short of a bit of pipe to do another one..any road to go down that route you would be honoured if he even replied to you quiery..
