Its been raced in anger a couple of times by Howard with some success, and as far as Im aware its as he bought it. Differences can be found here http://www.italia.org.uk/index_files/page0010.htm

Any questions, email him from his site, he wont mind Im sure. Always willing to give free help and advice on the phone ( of which Ive had lots over the years )

It takes the basic car and is modified in certain areas as required to make it into a competitive rallycar, without the costs escalating too much. The main areas which have been modified are the suspension, transmission and electronic management of the engine, as well as the addition of all the safety equipment required by the regulations.

    CLASS A7 - Formula 2000 (up to 2000cc) 2WD.
ENGINE Front transverse, 4 cylinders in line, 16 v
GEARBOX Standard Casing, N-Tech dog gear kit, LSD
    BRAKES Standard Discs all round
    CAPACITY 1747 cc
POWER 187 bhp at 6800 rpm
TORQUE 179 Nm at 4800 rpm
    SUSPENSION Bilstien shock, Eibach Springs
    FUEL SYSTEM Hitachi MPI
    RIMS Speedline in A1 alloy 7x17 (tarmac), 6x15 (off-road)
    WEIGHT 1140 kg

(this was obtained from the above link.)

sounds like just remap ??? is that fue system standard?

Its more the internals of the engine I am interested in..we all know that it takes a damn sight more than just a decent induction and map to get the 1.8 up to 187 bhp ..there has to be some other thing such as piston ..cams or head modifications to get to were the engine is at the moment .. there was a project that Fiat did with the chinq trofeo that took the engine up to 150bhp :o but do you think there is any info on it on the net ..well if it is then its a very well kept secret cos I can find it >:( just as Fiat have done with the chinq fiat have woven their magic on the 1.8 we only need to find it and I don't think Fiat are going to divulge that kind of info to anyone.. I sent an email to www.Italiia.org but as yet Howard hasn't come back with any info I have invited him to join us here but it seems as with the case of many businesses he is to busy :( never mind maybe if he does get some free time he will come and give us some info in general on fiats :) fingers crossed..

    they rally the panda too, and that thing is only a 1.2 8v..........with 130bhp!!! :o :o :o :o

think the 1.8 has lots of head mods and it its peak power is produced at err......slightly higher revs than the normal one ;D
